Clouds and a sunburst in the far North.
Interesting purple colours in the clouds above the Sutor. Sunrise and sunset shots can be such a cliche for photographers, unless you are very good, but the latitude of Cromarty, allied with our part of the towns orientation to the North and East mean that we get the most the dramatic cloud effects during the “shoulder months” of the year.
Add to that the great framing effect of the Sutors, and you do get a perfect photo opportunity.
Calum Davidson was a a well-known regional planner and photographer. He described himself as a photographer with a day job, living in a very photogenic part of the globe, and who got to travel a bit to other almost as photogenic bits of the planet.
